Loosing Magic

It's sometimes difficult to gauge the effectiveness of a work for me, since I am constantly studying and making myself aware of the artwork that is being made at the moment. I look at this work and can't help but compare it to the many other works out there that look very much like it. Am I saying your work is bad? Not at all. It's a fairly well done piece on the surface. But my main concern is that there seems to be a story missing here. Who is this woman? Why is she lying on this rock? Why is that "energy" coming out of her chest?

As for the technical aspect of the work, there are things that I think could be improved over time with practice and experience. The waterfall feels too mirror-like, meaning that one side is just the reverse of the other. However, that being said, the way it was blended to look like a much larger waterfall is excellent.

The energy coming out of her chest doesn't necessarily look bad, but I do think it needs a little more TLC. I do know, though, that sometimes its difficult to make magic or magical elements look real.

My biggest suggestion would be to try and explore new ideas and concepts to really push your talent and your imagination forward.
